Snow Day Yippie!!!!

Yesterday I had to take a brake from my organizing due to the massive head ache that keep me down most of the day. Today is a SNOW DAY!! We are trilled! we thought we would not have any snow this winter, but oh no, we got it and there is more coming tomorrow, they are saying about a foot in our area.
Since I am feeling much better today, I took the boys outside and we built a snowman, and the boys did some shoveling. I loved the way the tree in the front looked with the snow and ice on it...
 Jared playing dead...
Nick still loves to eat the snow...
Beginning the building of the snowman
We were building away and then JD says "owe owe owe" I look up and he is stuck doing the splits LOL
The finished man, the boys named him "Mr. White"
Enjoy your snow day!

Keeping Busy Orgainzing

So I last left off with the Laundry room and it still looks decent! Score one for me. I was suppose to wait till the next day to get the next thing on the list done, but I was feeling good. I tackled the some of the kitchen things. First was the drawers. Of course the dreaded junk drawer. I did not take a before picture (I forgot) I was bad...but now it looks like this
Now everything has a place thanks to small clear cups and labels from the dollar store (Just a thought, you might want to wright on the label before you put it on the cup. It is very hard to wright on it after it is on the inside of the cup. Just say'n)
Next was the designated towel drawer, but as you can see other things found there way in there too.
gee wiz with all the plastic bags and yes those are shower caps (they make great covers for bowls and containers with out lids that need to go in the fridge) you can't even see the the towels. And now Ta-Da this is what it looks like now!
What happened to all those plastic bags you ask? Well, I found a new home for them out of a empty Cleaning wipe container.
Slapped on some scrapbook paper and Ta-Da! Holder for plastic bags!

Next I needed to addend to the junk and medicine cabinet.
I have to say it is pretty bad. I have never knew how to get myself organized, but after some reading and lots of tips. It has been going good. I got some bins and cleared out junk.
I know so much better right!? Now I do have to say that after I did this Aunt Sherry and Mom came over to help me reorganize the whole kitchen to maximize space. So some things moved to a different spot like the ginger bread house and the fun dip (for boys' class) but it is still nice and neat! I love it! the last thing I did this day was to put a hanging organizer on the inside of the sink cabinet door to hold gloves and sponges, ect...
The next day like I said Mom and Sherry helped me and I could not have done it without them! I just was not feeling very motivated that day, but we got it done! Again I did not take before pictures. I know that nice matching containers would be pleasing to the eye, but I am working cheep, reusing what I have. Cups used to be in this cabinet. Now it holds baking goodies.

In the pantry, we got some dollar store bins, and put pasta in them and Sherry made everything look great!
Last but not lest, the pan and storage cabinet. Much better!
That is all for now, but I am still at it...

30 days to an Organized home

I am going to back track for a minute. Yesterday I cleaned out the coat closet, that had so much junk, and random things, like the step stool, the ironing board, I know it was bad...But now it is much better! I have a basket for things like beanies, gloves, extra vacuum bags ect...put the snow boots in here also. There is room now for other peoples coats when they come over, imagine that LOL.

Today is day 3 of 30, on my new mission to get home in an organized state. Today I worked on the laundry room. I got some great ideas to have some baskets over the washer and dryer, for socks that are missing their mate. One for toys that have been forgotten in pockets, one basket for things that need to be mended, or that need to donated. I wanted to do that, but I had to get creative with where I placed them.
I think I would like to get a shelf and some cute square wood baskets, and a curtain eventually. Working with what I have for now. On a procrastination note...It has only taken me a year and half to get the ironing board and step stool a home where they should be...

Tomorrow I will be cleaning out some drawers in the kitchen, stay tuned for more ideas.

What's in store for the New Year?

Well let me get my crystal ball...Just kidding, Only He knows what is in store for tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we can't try to improve on some things in our life. I want to try to become more organized in my home. I will try to do this in about one month, so you are more than welcome to join me as I go on this journey.
On my 30 days to an Organized home.
On day one I made and wrote down a plan of attack,  with the help of some other bloggers, and sites.
Today is day two, and today's first task, is to Clean out the Coat closet.
I needed to do this in small steps, that allows me to do a bit a day that won't take up the whole day away from my other responsibilities. Stay tuned for more...
