The Adventures of Peppermint and Sparkle + Extras

Well we have come to the end of our days with Peppermint and Sparkle. We sure did have fun waiting to see what and where they were each day. I have few more pictures to share...just hanging out on the oven...
Getting ready to clean up something...
The Boys and I made our Gingerbread house...Jared had the idea of putting candy corn on the roof . It was a good idea. Alas, I think we used the wrong kind of frosting, because the roof kept sliding off. So they ate it!
The boys are ready for Church on Christmas morning.
After church we had light lunch and then opened gifts with Nana and Papa. We each take turns...
He was a just a bit happy to get this one!
 Nick loved this one too!!
This picture Jared was waiting for his turn again, but he was wiggling off the ribbon just far enough so he could just take it right off. Papa caught him! He said "What?"
Nick loves his new Batman beanie, can you tell...All though he does LOVE geeking the camera!
Jared Helping Nick the next day, put on the new Light Strike target vest on.
Now they are ready for combat!! Nick trying not to smile...
I'm sure some of you have seen the Snoquallmie Falls. It was the first time we had been there. It was beautiful...We were able to see my cousin Whitney and her boyfriend Cody. Cody's grandparents live in Bothell so they were kind enough to share those crazy kids with us for a day.

Below is Whitney and Cody, they really do make a great couple.

 Below Nick is trying planking...
Then it was Jared's turn, they need some more practice, but I couldn't do it ether LOL
I hope you all have a Blessed New Year!

The Adventures of Peppermint days 10, 11, & 12

We are catching up from the weekend again. On Saturday we found Peppermint playing around, on Nick's DS
On Sunday we looked for a long time till we found him here...
This morning we found this...
Well Peppermint wanted to bake but he needed some help so he called his friend Sparkle and she came and helped him to make some cakes and doughnuts. I think Sparkle is going to stick around till Christmas.
Looks yummy...

The Adventures of Peppermint days 8 and 9

Yesterday I was not feeling so great so, I am catching up today. Peppermint stacked the pillows, in the living room...
I guess it has been too warm for him here in the North West cause this is were we found him this morning...In our freezer...
I thought I would throw this one in just for fun. Each Christmas I usually only put out one present under the tree for each person till  Christmas Eve. Why you ask? Because the temptation is TOO GREAT for some people in my family, they can't keep their paws off! LOL Here is the proof...

Yes, that is Nicklas and yes he is measuring the package. He thinks it is legos, and he has it in his mind that he can take these measurements and compare them to the boxes at the stores. That is exactly what he told us LOL in the words of master Yoda, "Truly wonderful the mind of a child"

Yup that is right Peppermint colored my hair to look like a candy cane!

He did leave a note to say that it was only temporary. I'm Ok with that ;)

The Adventures Of Peppermint Days 4 & 5

Well it is harder to post on the weekends, so I just might combine those days. So Saturday morning we found him here in the pantry...
You know the four foods groups of Elves are...Candy, Candy Canes, Candy Corns, and Syrup!
Then he thought it would be fun to join  our Nutcracker ranks. I wonder where we he will show up next?

It's December!!

Well it is December! Yes it is true. I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving. We had a great one with family, friends, and people we had not met before. A good time was had by all! For some reason this year I was having a really hard time waiting till December 1st to start my Christmas decorating (that is the norm for me in years past) so I didn't wait, what's a few days early?  Now that both the boys have their own room we don't have much space for a real big tree this year. So we are just using a small (fake) table top tree that I had bought.  My dear husband has always been so good to go along with my hair brained ideas for a theme for our tree. As my way of saying thanks, I decided last Christmas that I would do a tree for him in his Denver Broncos. Yup that's right our tree is orange and blue, and I even found all orange lights (thanks to Halloween ;)  of course the boys helped to decorate it.  I like how it turned out!

I also got a great idea from Pintrest, on how to make a "tree" from your tomato cage. It was very fun to do with the boys! Nick helped with putting on the greenery...
No silly boy not on you, on the cage...LOL
there we go that's right! Jared helped put it outside and hung ornaments on it...

I had so much fun trying something new with the boys!!!

We have been doing the elf on the shelf thing for a few years now. Thanks to the "Nana" who gave us our Vintage little elf. He is probably older than me. I had no idea how popular it is. Till I was surfing the web, and it is all over the place. It is just as fun for me! This year we decided to share with you all the Adventures Of Our Elf, Peppermint!  This morning we found him under the tree with a note that he wrote for the boys.

We named him Peppermint cause his cloths are striped like a peppermint candy cane.  He said he will just hang around and might even pull a few pranks, we'll see what he does... Yes that is John's old John Elway figure, we had too, don't judge LOL! More to come...

What's New!!

I think I have recovered from the room redo for Jared, it has been very busy lately just like everyone else. I have been keeping busy with my jewelry making and have the privilege of doing home shows. It has been very fun! Here are a few of the new things I have done.

As some of you know Jared fractured his index finger a few weeks ago. He will be able to take the splint off real soon. Both the boys had art projects to do. They had to make a sculpture out of phone book paper. Jared made some palm trees, and Nick made a broom. They both got A's on the project!
The holiday food and gift festival was at the Tacoma Dome this week. I went with Mom and Sherry, we had so much fun. Found all kinds of great things. We got some lose leaf tea, and my my my they are good and fresh. Another neat thing we will be doing is getting our veggies and eggs fresh from a family friend, and the little farm they will be starting. I'm excited about it, cause veggies and fruit taste so much better garden fresh! This week will be very full. We have our annual fall festival at the church, that day is also Dad's birthday. Then the boys will have picture day at school (which I won't forget this year, like I did last year). On Thursday they will have the school's first fall festival. Monday the 31st, we will get together with our small group for a party. I will also have 2 home shows and one craft fair this month. So I better get going and get things done. Hope you all have a blessed week.

The Biggest Project is Done!!

I have been working on several projects lately. The biggest one was a room redo for Jared. He has not had is own room for about 9 years now. He was a little excited, but I did not tell him what all I was going to do with it.
Here are some before shots... These were some color choices

I was using the closet as a work space, so I thought I would do the same for him too.
I have to say now that I have painted two rooms, one using a primer first and then color, and in this room using a color and primer in one. Color and primer is the way to go. In the bathroom it took me over a week, to paint. In Jared's room it only took me 2 days.

after I painted, it was time for my favorite part, putting everything together. Of course it is Star Wars themed.  My original plan was to paint a mural on one wall, but then I came to my senses! I was playing around on ebay and found giant posters at a very reasonable price, and then I found some great vinyl clings. Although I did not know how to put those things up with messing them up. ha ha ha so mom came over to help my out.
Thanks mom for all the help!
This is the original set up for the closet office. Then mom was looking at it and the way I set it up. It looked great to me but she said it did not flow. Then we figured out that I set it up like I would because I'm left handed. LOL
so I moved things over, to better suit a right handed person. It looked all out of whack to me but it's not my space.
This is on the first wall as you enter the room.
Great giant poster of battle scene!
Used shadow boxes with Star Wars paper in them and some masks on this wall.
I saw this and loved it, how true these words are.
I think he liked it, he spent the next two hours in there till his bedtime.
All in all a lot of hard work, but so worth it in the end. I have a feeling I will updating another room soon. Till next time I hope you all have a great week!
